The most anticipated event of the decade has come! The most famous MYSPACE celebrity Tila Tequila: famous for her MYSPACE (Over 4 Million Friends) and famous for her MTV celebrity TV SHOW "A SHOT AT LOVE WITH TILA TEQUILA" will be coming to the land down under to perform some of her greatest hits!
There are as many stories and paths to celebrity as there are celebrities, but in just a few years time, Tila Tequila has possibly become THE symbol of the cult of personality that has developed in the digital age. The Vietnamese sexy siren has been on the cover and featured in numerous magazines - such as Time, Maxim, Penthouse and Rolling Stone’s "Hot Issue" - for being the most "friended" person on the social networking site MySpace.com. Cast as a phenomenal "instant-star" of sorts, she’s already racked up nearly 4 million dedicated fans, and as the popular men’s magazine Stuff said, is now the "Web’s hottest Mama".
She has appeared in various reality shows like “Surviving Ted Nugent” (VH1, 2003) and hosted “Pants-Off Dance-Off” (Fuse, 2006-), until MTV decided to offer Tila her own show. “A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila” premiered on Oct. 9, 2007, and centred on the self-proclaimed bisexual weeding out her potential mates – 16 straight men; 16 gay women – to find her true love. Her smash hit MTV reality program “A shot at love with Tila Tequila” debuted as the number one program during its time period and the finale ended with 6.2 million viewers, making it MTV's most watched series telecast.
In addition to making men and women fight for her love on her own MTV show, Tila branched out to movies as well, with a cameo appearance as a Hooters Girl in the 2007 Adam Sandler-comedy “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.” She also signed on to rapper Will-I-Am’s label, and released the single “I Love You” on iTunes in February 2007, where it became the most downloaded song a month later. Rounding out her “skank-ified” world domination was Tila’s foray into fashion, with the site, Tilafashion.com.
The phenomenon of Tila Tequila is a story of being an icon of the cultural zeitgeist where the lines of pop culture, personal technology and raw talent intertwine to yield a feisty, magnetic pop music star on the verge.
